Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Use a mixer to combine 2 packs (250 grams each) of cream cheese until smooth.
Add 1/2 cup icing sugar to the cream cheese and mix slowly to incorporate.
Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture and mix well.
Slice the plums in half and remove the pits, using about 10-12 plums.
Sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of sugar over the plum halves and mix gently.
Prepare a 12-inch round baking pan with puff pastry, stretching it to fit.
Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the puff pastry.
Arrange the plums cut side down on top of the cream cheese filling.
Dot the top with a few tabs of butter.
Trim the edges of the puff pastry for presentation.
Bake in the oven for 25-35 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Let cool for 15-20 minutes before serving.
