4 servings
Servings4
2 cups Bob's Red Mill garbanzo bean flour
2 and 1/2 cups water
6 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 large white onion, peeled and thinly sliced
1 tablespoon minced fresh herbs (Rosemary)
1

Combine the garbanzo bean flour and sea salt in a bowl.

2

Slowly add the water to the flour mixture and whisk to break up any clumps.

3

Stir in about half of the olive oil (3 tablespoons).

4

Cover the bowl and refrigerate the batter for about an hour.

5

After an hour, take the batter out of the fridge and stir in the ground black pepper.

6

Heat the remaining olive oil in a 12-inch cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.

7

Add the sliced onion to the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes until they start to become translucent.

8

Turn off the stove and pour the batter into the skillet, spreading it around evenly.

9

Sprinkle the minced rosemary over the top of the batter.

10

Bake the skillet in the oven at 400°F for 30 minutes.

11

Remove the farinata from the oven; it should be firm in the center and lightly browned on top.

12

Let it cool for a few minutes before cutting it into wedges.
