Gather over 4 cups of mulberries and 3 cups of blackberries.
Add 1/2 cup of water to the berries in a pot.
Cook the berries on medium heat for about 15-20 minutes until they break down and release juice.
Taste the juice and add a pinch of salt and 3/4 cup of sugar, adjusting to taste.
Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mixture.
Break up the biscuits into small pieces and add them to the pot with the berries.
Cover the pot and cook for an additional 15 minutes to let the dumplings cook through.
Optionally, for a prettier presentation, transfer the mixture to an oven-safe dish, spread the biscuit pieces on top, and bake on low heat until the biscuits puff up.
Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of honey.
