Instructions
- 1In a medium saucepan, bring the water or milk to a boil over medium heat.
- 2Add the rolled oats and salt to the boiling liquid.
- 3Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 5-10 minutes until the oats are soft and have absorbed most of the liquid.
- 4If you prefer a creamier texture, you can cook the oats longer or add more liquid.
- 5Once cooked, remove from heat and stir in honey or maple syrup and cinnamon if using.
- 6Serve the porridge in bowls and top with fresh fruits, nuts, or seeds as desired.
- 7Enjoy your classic porridge oats warm.
