Put the lid on the food processor.

Turn the food processor on to setting one, then increase to setting two.

Watch as the cream turns into whipped cream, scraping the sides as needed.

Continue mixing until the butter separates from the buttermilk, watching for sloshing.

Stop mixing when you see separation and sloshing occurring.

Use a sieve to separate the buttermilk from the butter.

Press the butter to remove as much buttermilk as possible.

Rinse the butter in cold water, kneading it to ensure all buttermilk is removed.

If desired, add 1 teaspoon of salt and knead it into the butter.

Shape the butter into a rectangle using parchment paper.

Label the butter with the date using a sharpie for storage.
