Guyanese Butter Flaps

5 Cups All purpose flour
2 Tsp salt
3 Tbsp sugar
1 Pk yeast (7g)
5 Tbsp Margarine/ Butter
1 Tbsp vegetable shortening
1 cup lukewarm milk
1 cup lukewarm water
5 Tbsp butter for filing
1/2 Pk sazon

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.

Add the margarine or butter and vegetable shortening to the dry ingredients and mix well.

Gradually add the lukewarm milk and lukewarm water to the mixture, kneading until a dough forms.

Let the dough rise until it doubles in size.

Once risen, roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.

Place a small amount of the butter filling and sazon in the center of each piece of dough.

Fold the dough over to enclose the filling and seal the edges.

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
