2 medium tomatoes
1 medium carrot
½ cup water or as required
2 cinnamon sticks
2 green cardamom
3-4 cloves
1 tsp black peppercorns
1 bay leaf
2-3 tbsp cooking oil
1 cup chopped white onion
1 tbsp crushed garlic
350g boneless chicken thigh pieces
1 tsp paprika powder
1½ tsp salt or to taste
2 chicken stock cubes (optional)
2 litres water or as required
½ cup instant oats
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
crushed black pepper

In a blender jug, add tomatoes, carrot, and water, blend well & set aside.

In a bowl, place muslin cloth, add cinnamon sticks, green cardamom, cloves, black peppercorns, bay leaf & tie to make a potli (bouquet garni) & set aside.

In a pot, add cooking oil, white onion & sauté until translucent.

Add garlic & mix well for a minute.

Add chicken & mix well until it changes color.

Add paprika powder, salt, mix well & cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add blended paste, mix well & cook on medium flame for 3-4 minutes.

Add chicken stock cubes & mix well.

Add prepared potli (bouquet garni), water, mix well & bring it to boil, cover & cook on low flame for 25-30 minutes.

Remove & discard potli (bouquet garni) & turn off the flame.

Mash the chicken with the help of a masher.

Turn on the flame, add instant oats, mix well & bring it to boil, cover & cook on low flame for 15-20 minutes.

Add lemon juice, fresh coriander & mix well.

Sprinkle black pepper powder, fresh coriander & serve hot!
