Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Season the duck with salt and black pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat until shimmering.
Sear the duck on all sides until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Remove the duck and set aside; add chopped onion, garlic, and carrot to the pot.
Sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in rice and cook for 2 minutes to toast lightly.
Add white wine and cook until mostly evaporated, about 2 minutes.
Pour in chicken broth and add bay leaves; bring to a boil.
Return the duck to the pot, cover, and reduce heat to low; simmer for 20 minutes.
Transfer the pot to the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven; stir in chorizo, green peas, and lemon zest.
Cover and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
