Baked Spaghetti

Boil water in a pot and add salt.

Once boiling, add spaghetti and cook according to package directions until al dente.

Drain spaghetti and set aside to prevent further cooking.

In a bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef with Italian seasoning, chili powder, pepper flakes, fresh parsley, garlic powder, and crushed crackers.

Add 1 egg to the mixture and mix well.

Incorporate Colby jack cheese into the meat mixture.

Form meatballs, ensuring cheese is inside to prevent it from leaking out.

Add flour to hands to prevent sticking while forming meatballs.

Brown meatballs in a skillet with butter until they have a nice color but are not fully cooked.

Remove meatballs from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add chopped onion and cook until translucent.

Add 1 teaspoon of minced garlic to the onions and stir.

Pour in half a container of tomato sauce and add a little water.

Season the sauce with chili powder, fresh parsley, Italian seasoning, pepper flakes, ground black pepper, dry thyme, and basil.

In a baking dish, add a few spoonfuls of sauce to the bottom.

Layer the cooked spaghetti on top of the sauce.

Sprinkle cheese on top of the spaghetti.

Add some of the sauce over the spaghetti (not all of it).

Place the browned meatballs on top of the spaghetti.

Pour the remaining sauce over the meatballs to keep them juicy.

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
