Check the crispiness of the edges after 20 minutes.
Flip the kugel onto a plate and return it to the pan to cook the other side.
Cook uncovered on medium-low flame for an additional 15 minutes until crispy.
Cut a slice and taste the kugel, adding extra salt and pepper if desired.
