General Tso’s Chicken Wings

2 lbs chicken wings
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 inch ginger, minced
1-2 green onions, chopped
1-2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a large bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Toss the chicken wings in the flour mixture until well coated.

Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy.

While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce by combining soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red pepper flakes in a saucepan over medium heat.

Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.

Once the wings are done, remove them from the oven and toss them in the sauce until well coated.

Return the coated wings to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 10 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
