Today, variations abound, with some incorporating different fillings or spices, making it a beloved treat enjoyed year-round.

Melt 250 grams of butter and let it cool slightly.
Mix melted butter with 1/4 cup sugar and a pinch of salt.
Add 3 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla, mixing lightly.
Incorporate 1 teaspoon of dried mint into the mixture.
Sift in 2 teaspoons of baking powder and 4 cups of plain flour, mixing well.
Add 2 cups of halloumi cheese and mix until combined.
Gently fold in 375 grams of sultanas, keeping them whole.
Transfer the dough to a Ziploc bag and chill in the fridge for about an hour.
After chilling, form the dough into shapes and place them on baking trays.
Sprinkle with dried mint and sesame seeds, and add a spoonful of parmesan cheese on top.
Bake in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes, checking for a golden brown color.
