1 whole dry coconut
1/2 cup sugar
1 evaporated milk
a little nutmeg
a little vanilla
5 cups filtered water

Grate the coconut using the small side of a grater.

In a pot, add 5 cups of filtered water and the grated coconut.

Let the coconut sit in the water for 10 minutes.

Strain the coconut mixture using a colander to remove the coconut fibers.

You can use gloves if desired; the coconut does not need to be peeled.

In the pot, add the strained coconut milk, sugar, nutmeg, and vanilla.

Stir the mixture and taste; add more sugar if needed based on the coconut size.

Fill various containers with the mixture, using molds or cups.

Cover with plastic wrap and insert wooden sticks using a measuring cup and funnel.

Seal the cups with aluminum foil, making a hole in the center for the sticks.

Place in the freezer for at least 6 hours to freeze completely.
