Its comforting nature makes it a family favorite, celebrated for its hearty ingredients and robust taste.

Fresh tomatoes add brightness, while crushed are often cheaper.
Prepare all ingredients and equipment for the recipe.
Bring a pot of water to a rapid boil and add 1 pound of heavily salted spaghetti. Stir with a pasta fork to prevent sticking and cook for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, rinse the spaghetti under cold water and taste to ensure it's al dente. Strain and set aside.
In a pot over medium heat, add 1 pound of ground beef and break it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, ensuring it's broken into small bits.
Once browned, drain excess fat using paper towels and set the beef aside.
In the same pot, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the sliced Spanish onion. Sauté until the onions are light golden on the edges.
Add 1 teaspoon of oregano, 1 teaspoon of basil, and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning to the onions and stir to combine.
Return the browned ground beef to the pot and stir for about 1 minute to blend flavors.
Add 3 cups of pre-made spaghetti sauce to the pot. If the sauce is thick, add 1/4 cup of water to loosen it.
Simmer the sauce for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combine the cooked spaghetti with the sauce, ensuring it is well mixed.
Spray a Pyrex lasagna pan with non-stick cooking spray and transfer the spaghetti and sauce mixture into the pan.
Sprinkle 1 pound of shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the top of the spaghetti.
Place the lasagna pan on a baking tray for insulation and bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 35 to 45 minutes, until the cheese is golden brown.
After 35 minutes, check for a nice golden brown color on top. Remove from the oven.
Serve with additional parmesan cheese on top.
