Prepare the yeast and measure out all ingredients.
Combine flour and other ingredients together and mix for 20 to 25 minutes, adding flour as needed until the dough separates from the bowl and is stretchy, smooth, and elastic.
Weigh the dough into pieces of about 60 grams each.
Roll each piece by pulling from each side into the center, pinching together, and rolling it up.
Let the dough pieces rest until they double in size.
Heat sunflower oil in a deep pot to between 150°F and 165°F.
Fry the donuts, placing them in the oil and covering with a lid for the first 3 minutes, then flipping them and cooking for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown.
Remove the donuts from the oil and place them on a tray lined with paper towel.
