1 medium brown onion (thinly sliced)
5 g whole dried chillies (or 3-4 whole fresh chillies)
1-2 tbsp oil
½ cup curry leaves
salt and pepper

Soak the chickpeas overnight or for at least a few hours.

When ready, boil the chickpeas in salted water for about 30-45 minutes or until soft. Drain and set aside.

In a pot, heat up some oil on medium-high heat.

Add the sliced onion in the pot and let them cook for 2-3 minutes.

Then add in the dry chillies and curry leaves. Toss and mix well until fragrant.

Add in the drained chickpeas, a dash of salt and pepper. Combine everything well for 2-3 minutes.

Add 1 tbsp of water and toss well to finish off.
