Instructions
- 1Toast almonds in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2In a saucepan, combine honey and sugar over low heat, stirring until dissolved.
- 3Remove from heat and let cool slightly before adding egg whites, whisking until combined.
- 4Stir in vanilla extract, cinnamon, and orange zest until evenly mixed.
- 5Fold in toasted almonds and any additional nuts or dried fruits.
- 6Line a baking dish with edible rice paper and pour the mixture into the dish.
- 7Press the mixture down firmly with a spatula to create an even layer.
- 8Let the turron cool at room temperature until firm, about 2 hours.
- 9Once set, cut into squares or rectangles for serving.
- 10Melt dark chocolate and drizzle over the turron if desired.
- 11Allow chocolate to set before serving.
