Baked Penne Pasta

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup onions, chopped
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup carrots, diced
2 cups marinara sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh-ground pepper
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups penne pasta, boiled

Heat oil in a large nonstick pan over medium heat.

Add garlic and onions to the pan.

Add lean ground beef and cook for five minutes, mixing well.

Once the beef is cooked, add chopped celery and carrots.

Cook the veggies for two minutes.

Add pasta sauce to the pan.

Add salt and fresh-ground pepper to taste.

If using Italian pasta sauce, add sugar (skip if using sweet style sauce).

Optionally, add beef beyond mix and let it simmer for 3 minutes.

Add a quarter portion of your cheese to the mixture.

Stir in the boiled pasta and mix well.

Add another quarter portion of your cheese to thicken the sauce.

Turn off the heat and transfer the pasta mixture to an oven-safe serving dish.

Drizzle and spread the rest of your cheese on top of the pasta.

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
