2 cups water

Add 2 cups of water to the rinsed rice.

Add salt to taste and 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds to the pot.

Stir the mixture and heat the pan on high flame.

Cover the pot and let the water boil for about five minutes.

After the water boils, turn the flame to low heat and cover the pot.

Let it cook for about 25-30 minutes until the rice is cooked.

Check the grain after about 25 minutes to see if additional water is needed.

If more water is needed, add a little and let it simmer for another 5 minutes until done.

Turn off the stove and leave the lid slightly open for the moisture to dry out.
