Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add diced carrots and chopped tomatoes; cook for 3-4 minutes.
Pour in vegetable broth and bring to a boil.
Add soaked split peas and spices; reduce heat to low and simmer for 30-40 minutes until peas are tender.
Blend soup until smooth using an immersion blender or regular blender.
Stir in coconut milk and lime juice; heat through for 5 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
