Filipino Sweet and Sour Sauce

Cultural Context

Originating from the diverse culinary landscape of the Philippines, Sweet and Sour Sauce is a staple in Filipino cuisine, often served with fried dishes like lumpia or sweet and sour pork. This sauce reflects the country's love for balancing flavors, combining the sweetness of sugar and pineapple with the tanginess of vinegar. Today, it enjoys popularity not just in the Philippines but also among those who appreciate its vibrant taste in various Asian-inspired dishes.
