Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Grease a baking dish with butter.
In a large bowl, combine semolina, sugar, yogurt, and melted butter.
Mix in baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
Score the surface into diamond shapes and place an almond in the center of each piece.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown.
While the cake bakes, prepare the syrup by boiling water and sugar together until dissolved.
Remove from heat and stir in rose water and lemon juice; let cool.
Once the cake is baked, pour the cooled syrup evenly over the hot cake.
Allow the cake to absorb the syrup for at least 30 minutes before serving.
