Peel, wash, and chop 700 grams of taro into pieces.
Steam the taro until tender.
While waiting, prepare the seasoning by grinding 1/2 teaspoon black pepper and 1 teaspoon salt.
Add 2 cloves of garlic and grind again, then set aside.
Chop 1 stalk of celery (or green onion) finely and set aside.
Once the taro is tender, transfer it to a bowl and mash it while still hot.
Add the ground seasoning and 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder to the mashed taro and mix until well combined.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Add 1 egg and the chopped celery, then mix thoroughly.
Take a portion of the mixture and shape it as desired, forming small patties.
Prepare a beaten egg in a bowl and set aside.
Heat cooking oil in a pan until hot.
Dip each patty into the beaten egg and fry until golden brown, turning occasionally to cook evenly.
Once cooked, remove from the oil and drain excess oil.
