Greek yogurt reduces calories while maintaining creaminess

Split the bagels in half.

Lightly toast the bagels.

Thinly slice a third of a large red onion, separating each slice.

Drain the capers and divide them into one tablespoon portions, optionally drying them on a paper towel.

Soften 6-8 ounces of cream cheese to room temperature.

Assemble the lox and bagel: take a toasted bagel half and spread 2 ounces of cream cheese evenly on one side.

Top the cream cheese with half a tablespoon of capers.

Add 2 ounces of smoked salmon on top of the capers.

Sprinkle a handful of thinly sliced red onions over the salmon.

Add another half tablespoon of capers on top of the onions.

Finish with a sprinkle of freshly ground black pepper.

Serve with the other half of the bagel and repeat the process for the remaining ingredients.
