Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with cold water, about an inch above the eggs.
  2. 2Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. 3Once boiling, cover the saucepan and remove it from heat. Let it sit for 9-12 minutes depending on your desired doneness.
  4. 4After the time is up, carefully drain the hot water and transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool for about 5 minutes.
  5. 5Once cooled, gently tap the eggs on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel them under running water for easier removal.
  6. 6Slice the boiled eggs in half and sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. 7For an extra touch, sprinkle paprika on top or serve with a dollop of mayonnaise if desired.
