Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix flour and baking powder until combined.
In another bowl, cream together butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Fold in chopped cashews and sesame seeds evenly throughout the dough.
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
Flatten each cookie slightly with the back of a fork.
Sprinkle additional sesame seeds on top of each cookie before baking.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden.
Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Store cookies in an airtight container once cooled.
