Temper the egg yolks by adding a little of the hot milk mixture to them and whisking.

Cook the mixture on medium low heat while stirring constantly until it thickens, about 4-5 minutes.
Strain the custard through a fine sieve to ensure a silky texture.
Add Aldrisco's whiskey to the strained custard for flavor.
Cool the custard quickly over a bowl of iced water to stop the cooking process.
Chill the custard in the refrigerator for a minimum of 4 hours before churning.
