1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup rice wine
1 tablespoon ginger
3 cloves garlic
4 scallions
2 star anise
1 cinnamon stick
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt

Cut pork belly into bite-sized pieces.

Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat until shimmering.

Add pork belly and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
