Go to the grocery store to buy corned beef.
Select a point cut corned beef priced at $4.99 per pound.
Rinse off any brine left on the corned beef.
Chop 1 onion roughly.
Add the beer to the bottom of a slow cooker.
Place the corned beef in the slow cooker and sprinkle the seasoning packet over it.
Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for 6 hours.
After 6 hours, check the corned beef for tenderness.
Slice the corned beef for serving.
Prepare a Reuben sandwich with marble rye bread, swiss cheese, drained sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing.
Butter the outside of the rye bread and grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes until toasted.
