Smoked Chicken

Today, this dish has gained popularity beyond Uganda, with variations found in many cultures around the world, each adding their unique twist to the preparation and seasoning.

1 teaspoon mustard oil
1/2 cup curd
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste
1 teaspoon chili paste
salt as required
1/2 teaspoon holly
1 teaspoon ghee
1 piece of charcoal
3 tablespoons refined oil

Add chicken to a mixing bowl.

Add curd to the chicken.

Add chili powder to the chicken.

Add garam masala to the chicken.

Add ginger-garlic paste and chili paste to the chicken.

Add mustard oil and salt to the chicken.

Mix well and put it in the freezer for about 3 to 4 hours.

After 3 hours, take the chicken out of the freezer.

Heat a nonstick pan and add 3 tablespoons of refined oil.

Place the chicken in the pan and cook on low flame for about 3 to 4 minutes on one side.

Flip the chicken and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes on the other side.

Once cooked, turn off the heat.

In a big glass bowl, place a small glass bowl inside.

Place the cooked chicken around the small bowl.

Burn the charcoal and place it inside the small bowl.

Add ghee to the charcoal and cover with a lid for 30 seconds.

Remove the lid and serve the chicken hot.
