Remove the skin and bone from the chicken thighs.

Grate a piece of ginger and keep half a tablespoon in a mixing bowl.

Add half teaspoon of salt, one quarter teaspoon of ground pepper, one teaspoon of garlic powder, one teaspoon of five spice powder, one tablespoon of sugar, one tablespoon of honey, the grated ginger, one eighth teaspoon of red food coloring powder, one tablespoon of cooking wine, one tablespoon of sesame oil, two tablespoons of light soy sauce, one teaspoon of dark soy sauce, and two tablespoons of hoisin sauce to the mixing bowl.
