While similar desserts exist across the Middle East and Mediterranean, Armenian paklava is distinguished by its unique blend of spices and nut varieties, reflecting local tastes and traditions.

Preheat the oven.
Melt 5 sticks of unsalted butter and clarify it by scraping off the solids.
Grease a baking dish with some of the melted butter using a paper towel.
Layer about two-thirds of a pack of phyllo dough in the greased baking dish.
Mix chopped walnuts with cinnamon and layer the nut mixture over the phyllo dough.
Continue layering phyllo and the nut mixture, finishing with phyllo on top.
Cut the assembled paklava into diamond shapes.
Bake in the oven for 46 minutes, turning it halfway through.
Prepare a sugar water solution by boiling 1 cup of water with 2 cups of sugar until dissolved, then add lemon juice to taste.
Pour the sugar water solution over the baked paklava.
