Originating in Uganda, the Rolex is a popular street food that combines eggs and vegetables wrapped in chapati. It is a beloved snack or meal, often enjoyed on the go, and reflects the vibrant culinary culture of Uganda. Today, the Rolex has gained popularity beyond Uganda, inspiring variations in different countries, showcasing its versatility and appeal.

Whole wheat wraps add fiber, while tortillas are often less expensive.

Parsley is a good substitute for flavor, and dried herbs are more economical.
Knead the dough and divide it into small balls.
Sprinkle flour on the surface and roll each ball flat.
Brush some oil on the rolled dough and sprinkle flour on top.
Fold the dough to create another ball for layered chapatis.
Roll out the second chapati, brush with oil, and fold for layers.
Fry one chapati dry without oil, then place another on top and turn until cooked evenly.
Add oil and fry the chapatis until golden brown.
Break three eggs into a bowl and cut in onions and tomatoes into small pieces.
Add in cabbage and sprinkle salt for taste, then whisk to combine.
Melt prestige margarine in a frying pan and pour in the egg mixture.
Fry both sides of the egg mixture until golden, then remove from the pan and fold it nicely.
For the second Rolex, break two eggs and add in cabbage and onions, whisking well to combine.
Heat oil in a pan, pour in the egg mixture, and fry until golden brown.
When almost ready, place a chapati on top and fry a little before removing from heat.
Add fresh tomato and onion slices on top, sprinkle salt, and fold well.
