Prepare the simple sauce with a base of sautéed onion, salt, and basil.

Cook the tortellini until al dente.

In a large container, combine the sauce, besciamella, and tortellini, reserving some besciamella.

Add a few tablespoons of grated parmigiano and mix to combine all ingredients.

Pour everything into a baking dish and spread the reserved besciamella on top, along with a generous sprinkle of parmigiano.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200° for 15-20 minutes, until a gratin crust forms on the surface.
