Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon in a bowl.
In a separate bowl, combine 3/4 cup of milk and 1 egg.
If the batter is too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk to reach the right consistency.
Cut the apples into about 1/4 inch thick slices.
Heat oil to about 350 degrees.
Dip the apple slices into the batter, then drain and rock them to remove excess batter.
Fry the apple slices until golden, about 1 minute per side.
Drain the fried apples on paper towels.
Chop any remaining apple pieces and mix them into the batter, then drop into the hot oil and fry.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar or additional cinnamon before serving.
