Add chopped onion, carrot, and celery; sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.
Pour in red wine and simmer until reduced by half, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in tomato paste, canned tomatoes, bay leaves, and oregano; season with salt and black pepper.
Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cover; cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove bay leaves before serving.
Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions.
Drain spaghetti and combine with the Bolognese sauce.
Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
