Cut up 4 medium-sized potatoes and 1 large onion, quartering them.

Optionally, prepare other vegetables like carrots or celery according to taste.

Cut a 4 pound pork roast into smaller pieces to shorten cook time.

Add the pork roast pieces to the pot.

Sprinkle the combined spices over the pork roast.

Add 2 cups of chicken broth to the pot.

Deglaze the bottom of the pot by scraping the pieces off.
