Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Carefully add the vodka to the skillet, allowing it to simmer for about 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Reduce the heat to low and add the heavy cream, stirring until well combined.

Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt to taste.

Remove from heat and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
