💰Cheaper: microwave popcorn

Microwave popcorn can be more convenient.

1

Heat the stove to medium-high.

2

Add 1 tablespoon of peanut oil to an 8 quart stock pot.

3

Add 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt to the oil and move it around to coat the bottom of the pot.

4

Wait for the oil to heat up until it thins out.

5

Add 2-3 popcorn kernels to the bottom of the pot and cover with a lid.

6

Once the test kernels pop, remove the lid and add enough popcorn kernels to cover the bottom of the pot in a single layer.

7

Replace the lid and remove the pot from heat for 30 seconds to allow the kernels to reach the same temperature.

8

After 30 seconds, give the pot a quick shake to coat the kernels in oil and return it to the burner.

9

Once popping starts, shake the pot occasionally to keep the popcorn moving.

10

When the rate of popping slows down significantly, remove the pot from the heat and turn off the burner.

11

Remove the lid to prevent condensation from making the popcorn soggy.

12

Optionally, add extra salt on top before serving.
