Cover the dough and set aside for 30 minutes.

In a saucepan, combine 200 ml of water, 150 g of sugar, a cinnamon stick, and orange peel; simmer for 5 minutes and strain the syrup.

Add 100 g of honey to the syrup.

Spread the dough and cut it into pieces.

Heat 500 g of vegetable oil in a deep pan and fry the dough pieces until golden brown.

Dip the warm diples in the hot syrup and sprinkle with walnuts.
