Pour about a half cup of semolina into a bowl and add the same amount of warm milk. Stir and let it sit for 10 minutes.

Separate one egg into yolk and white. Set the yolk aside. Add the remaining egg white and two eggs to a bowl.

Add about half a cup of sugar to the bowl with the eggs and whisk until smooth.

In a large bowl, add 500 g of cottage cheese and a pinch of salt. Pour in the egg-sugar mixture and blend with a hand blender until smooth.

Add the semolina and milk mixture and half a cup of sour cream. Mix until smooth and airy.

Mix 100 g of cherries with 1 tbsp of sugar and 1 tbsp of cornstarch for the filling.

Grease the baking dish with butter and sprinkle with semolina.

Pour half of the cottage cheese batter into the dish, spread the cherry filling on top, and cover with the remaining batter.

Mix the saved egg yolk with 1 tbsp of sour cream and brush the top of the batter with this mixture.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 50–60 minutes.
