Traditionally served with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of fresh herbs, this dish embodies the Spanish love for fresh, high-quality ingredients. Today, variations can be found in many parts of the world, often accompanied by different sauces or sides to complement the rich taste of the tuna.

Canned tuna is more affordable and still provides a good source of protein.

Olive oil is healthier, while margarine is a cheaper fat alternative.
Turn on the fire to medium-high heat and let the frying pan heat up.
Drizzle a little bit of extra virgin olive oil on top of the tuna steaks.
Squeeze half a lemon over the tuna steaks.
Add a pinch of salt to the tuna steaks.
Check if the pan is hot enough by dabbing a little water on it; if it sizzles, it's ready.
Place the tuna steaks in the pan with the unseasoned side down.
Cook the tuna for about 2.5 to 3 minutes without moving it.
Flip the tuna steaks and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes on the other side.
Dice the garlic and place it in a mortar and pestle.
Mash the garlic in the mortar and pestle.
Add freshly chopped parsley to the mashed garlic and mix together.
Add a little bit of olive oil to the garlic and parsley mixture and mix well.
Add a pinch of salt to the sauce and mix it in.
After cooking, turn off the heat and plate the tuna steaks.
Drizzle the garlic and parsley sauce over the plated tuna steaks.
