Fold the pastry strips over the apple filling, alternating sides to create a braid effect.
Brush the top with beaten egg mixed with water for a golden finish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
Let cool slightly before drizzling with a glaze made from icing sugar and milk.
