Long grain white rice is a staple in many cuisines around the world, particularly in Asian and Middle Eastern dishes. It is prized for its fluffy texture and ability to remain separate when cooked. In various cultures, rice is not just a food but a symbol of life and prosperity, often featured in celebrations and rituals. Today, it is enjoyed globally, with numerous varieties and preparations.

Brown rice is more nutritious while medium grain rice is often less expensive.
Get a three quart saucepan.
Add two cups of water and bring it to a boil over high heat.
As soon as it starts boiling, add half a teaspoon of salt and stir in one cup of long grain white rice.
Do not rinse the rice as per the directions on the rice bag.
As soon as the water starts to boil again, give it a quick stir, cover the pot, and turn the heat down to low just enough to keep it lightly simmering.
Leave it like this for around 17 minutes and try not to remove the lid or you'll release a bunch of the steam.
After about 17 minutes, check if the rice looks tender and that all the water is absorbed.
Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes still with the lid on.
After resting for a few minutes, take off the lid and fluff the rice with a fork.
Let it rest for a couple more minutes to release any excess steam.
