Start by salting and peppering the beef and hen.

In a pressure cooker, add 2 beef flavor cubes, 4-5 large garlic cloves, a piece of green onion, and some cilantro.

Add the hen and the beef to the pressure cooker and cook until tender.

Add water, salt, and a clean banana peel to help thicken the sancocho.

Add grated potato and banana to the pot for thickness.

Add more garlic, onion, and cilantro for flavor.

Cook the pork ribs and chicken together, noting that pork ribs may take longer to cook than chicken.

Prepare the vegetables: cut the potatoes, yuca, and plantains into desired sizes.

Soak the cut vegetables in water while preparing the rest.

Add frozen corn to the pot after the meats have started cooking.

After about 40 minutes, check the meats for tenderness and remove them if they are ready, leaving the tougher meats to cook longer.

Strain out the garlic and onion pieces from the broth for a clearer soup.

Combine the meats back into the pot with the concentrated broth.
