Non-alcoholic stout maintains flavor without alcohol.
In a mixing bowl, place bread flour and salt, then whisk to incorporate.
Add sugar, yeast, white shortening, and water to the bowl.
Mix on low speed for 2 minutes, then on high speed for 6 minutes until the dough is clear.
If the dough is too dry, add more water or flour as needed.
Flour your surface and place the dough onto it, kneading briefly to incorporate more flour and develop elasticity.
Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl and cover with cling film.
Let the dough rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
Once risen, punch down the dough to release air and knead it briefly on a floured surface.
Shape the dough into a sausage shape and place it into a prepared loaf pan.
Cover the loaf pan with cling film and let it rise for another hour or until it doubles in size again.
Preheat the oven and bake the loaf.
