Named for their resemblance to airships, these hearty dumplings reflect the agricultural roots of Lithuanian cuisine, often served during family gatherings and celebrations. Today, they are enjoyed not only in Lithuania but also by Lithuanian communities worldwide, with variations that include different fillings and toppings.

Grate fresh potatoes.
Squeeze grated potatoes to separate the liquid, leaving some moisture.
Pour the potato liquid into another container to let the starch set.
Add boiled potatoes and the starch that has set to the grated potatoes.
Add salt and ground black pepper to the mixture.
Mix everything well until combined.
Add oil to a baking tray.
Take some of the potato mixture, place stuffing inside, and form into a zeppelin shape.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) with upper and lower heating.
Place the zeppelins in the oven and bake for about 1 hour and 10 minutes until cooked.
