Roll the dough rectangle tightly into a log, then twist the log into a spiral shape.
Flatten the spiral gently and place a spoonful of filling in the center.
Wrap the dough around the filling, sealing it tightly.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Place the mooncakes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush the tops with egg wash before baking for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
