In a large bowl, mix together 1 cup of warm milk and 2 tablespoons of molasses.
Sprinkle 2 and 1/4 teaspoons of dry active yeast on top and set aside for 5 minutes.
Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and 2 eggs to the yeast mixture.
Mix in 4 and 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour and knead on low until the dough starts to come together.
Continue kneading and work in 1/4 cup of softened butter for about 5 minutes (or 8 minutes by hand).
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Tip the dough onto a lightly floured countertop and roll it into a rectangle.
In a medium bowl, mix together 1 and 3/4 cups of brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 2 teaspoons of ground ginger, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of ground clove, and 1/4 cup of melted butter.
Add 2 tablespoons of molasses to the filling mixture and spread it evenly on top of the dough rectangle.
Starting from one of the short sides, roll the dough up into a log and seal the end seam with a little butter.
Slice the log into 12 cinnamon rolls and place them in a greased pan or casserole dish.
Cover and allow the rolls to rise for about 30 minutes to an hour until they double in size again.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Bake the rolls for 30 to 35 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
In a bowl, beat together 1/4 cup of butter and 1 (8 oz) brick of softened cream cheese.
Mix in 3 cups of icing sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of orange extract.
Beat until the icing is thick and fluffy.
Spread the icing on the cinnamon rolls just before serving.
