Combine 3 cups self-raising flour and 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder in a large bowl.
Add 1/2 cup sugar and mix well until combined.
Melt 1/2 cup butter and add to the dry ingredients, mixing until evenly distributed.
Add 1 cup milk and mix continuously until the dough is well combined.
If the mixture is too dry, add warm water until the dough is no longer sticky.
Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth, then cover with cling wrap and let it rise for 1-2 hours.
Once risen, knead the dough again for about a minute and divide it into two equal parts.
Roll out one part of the dough to preferred thickness and cut into desired shapes, preferably diamonds.
Heat oil in a cast iron pot over medium heat until hot.
Drop the dough pieces gently into the oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot.
Fry until golden brown, flipping to cook both sides evenly.
Remove from oil and place on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
